30 Schools Ready for Online National Exam

Education and Culture Ministry is going to test online national exam this year. There are 30 schools in Jakarta ready for it. Contrary with them, most of schools in city do not have adequate equipment such as computer and internet network.

Head of Jakarta Education Department, Arie Budhiman conveyed that the 30 schools which conduct the online test comprised of 1 Junior High School (SMP), 3 Senior High Schools (SMA), and 26 Vocational High Schools (SMK). “There are 30 schools to conduct online test in city,” he said, Wednesday (3/25).
Secretary of Jakarta Education Department, Bowo Irianto expressed his side has already prepared, especially training to students who face online test. Due to the system applied just for this year thus it must be a new thing for them. “Several schools are already done the training,” he uttered.
Most Schools Not Ready for Online ExamIrianto mentioned only one that really meet the feasibility of Ministry standard, that is Penabur 2 Vocational School North Jakarta. While others still in preparation and completion. For school that do not meet the standard continues to use manual system by using paper.
The students are given 190 minutes. Evaluation and supervision will be deployed from ministry to monitor the test. “Based on the simulation, online test ease the students because they just have to click. If using manual system they run out of time to encircling and risk of torn paper and answer sheet can not detect are also bigger,” he added.
Meanwhile, education department acknowledged has already prepared the possibility of power outage. His side also sent a letter to state-owned electricity company (PLN) to maintain electricity supply for each schools when test took place. Due to in Junior High School as well Senior High School there is a listening section in English subject test. “We already asked for PLN, at the d-day there is no power outage,” he disclosed.
